This project is designed for mechanical students who would like to continue practice with the shop tools as well as experimenting with design and being able to interact with the control systems subteam. On the Drive, there is a [https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/0BxMI4EGblvlsUzJidWVlM1AwLUE kicker folder] that has a CAD model of a small kicker mechanism. Students who choose this project will form groups to either create the kicker exactly as it appears on the drive or modify it in an attempt to improve its ability, and then create the new design with the modifications. The model includes a motor to power the kicker, so the mech students will have to work with control systems members in order to wire the motors to a power source to make the kicker operational. Experienced mechanical members will also be made available to help with this project and answer questions, and they will be involved as much or as little as any group desires.
