MATERIALS:
- Raspberry Pi 3 Model B
- micro sd card
- micro sd to sd card adapter
- computer with sd card port
- micro usb cable + power source like a computer or something
- USB mouse
- USB keyboard
- HDMI cable (or HDMI -> VGA adapter)
- monitor that accepts HDMI input
get a micro SD card and an SD card adapter for your computer
put the micro SD card in the adapter
put the adapter in the computer
go to https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/noobs/ and download noobs (a linux based operating system) as ZIP
install the OS on the micro sd card (use this link for help: https://www.raspberrypi.org/learning/software-guide/quickstart/)
take the adapter out of the computer
take the micro sd card out of the adapter

get a micro usb cable
get a USB mouse and USB keyboard
get a monitor that takes HDMI input
get an HDMI cable
put the sd card in the Pi
connect the pi and the monitor via HDMI (or plug the HDMI cable into the HDMI -> VGA adapter and plug the adapter into a school monitor)
plug in the mouse and keyboard into the USB ports on the pi
power the pi with via micro usb

if this doesn't work, bang on the pi until it works
if banging on the pi doesn't work, bang on the monitor until it works
if that doesn't work, seek help
if that doesn't work, give up
