Electrical Lead and Deputy - Roles and Responsibilities
- Electrical, pneumatic, and sensor systems
- Responsibility - design and deployment of control-plane hardware from battery to motors; all wiring, power budget analysis, and sensor implementations (subject to interface requirements from control systems and systems/integration captain).
- Authority - all electrical design decisions (meeting requirements developed by Systems/Integration). Sensor selection and placement (meeting requirements developed by Systems/Integration and Control Systems). All sensor firmware (Arduino).
- Potential deputy roles:

- Duties:
- Study best control systems practices of top teams
- Develop/document standard electrical processes and resources
- Fall:
- Electrical team training: electricity, safety, electronics, batteries, motors/actuators, sensors, cabling/soldering/crimping, schematic diagrams
- Assist mechanical team in electrical construction of training robots and test fixtures
- Build:
- Assembly, wiring, testing of actuators, sensors, pneumatics, control-plane hardware
- After robot is finished (used to be "Post-Bag"):
- Assembly, wiring, pneumatics, of spare robots for driver and CS practice
- Develop, execute test plan in cooperation with mech lead(s)
- Preparation for rapid-repair during competition
- Write technical documents for awards judging (subject to Operations Lead)
- Competition: rapid diagnosis, repair in pit of robot
